                   “Sisters Circle Journey to South Africa

Co-Producing and organizing with The Diva Foundation, a new initiative, “A Sisters Circle”: A women’s healing Journey to South Africa in Cape Town, South Africa.   This unprecedented summit for women of color by women of color, lead by longtime AIDS activist, Sheryl Lee Ralph, will bring together women and girls from America to South Africa. Women who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS will discuss some of the most pressing challenges facing African and American women in reference to this disease and its unique affect on women.

In addition to discussion groups and workshops, the women will tour Robben Island and the townships, learn to work with beads with our partners at the incredible Monkey Biz, and have dinner at Moyo’s on the Spier Estate.

A Fundraiser to benefit the HIV+ programs at JL Zwane and Monkey Biz.

SherylLeeRalphA special performance of “Sometimes, I Cry” a one-woman show written and performed by star of Broadway, film and television, and honored AIDS activist, Sheryl Lee Ralph, that shares the lives, loves and losses of women infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.  It’s a complex and thought provoking show, chronicling the struggles of women from different social and economic backgrounds.

There will be two performances, one a 2:30pm matinee and another at 8 pm. Tickets through CompuTicket.

Love to The World will be leading our first 12 week Arts and Leadership Academy for 75 students of COSAT (Center of Science and Technology) High School for Math and Science. The school is located in the township of Khayalitsha.

This program will involve workshops in creative writing, acting, directing, and the visual arts as well as in website development, HIV prevention, and self-esteem building. The students will develop and lead community projects that they have determined will make their communities great.
